The family of a child who was allegedly molested at a Boy Scout Camp in Bergen County is accusing the Boy Scouts of America and its associated camp of negligence, according to a complaint filed July 1.
On July 4, 2025, a minor was invited to attend the Boy Scouts of America’s campsite in Alpine Township, the lawsuit says.
The suit highlights that the minor was under direct supervision of the Boy Scouts of America, and that it was the organization’s direct responsibility to keep her safe while she visited the campsite.
During the minor’s visit, the lawsuit accuses the camp’s Service Director of physically and sexually abusing her. The Service Director’s name is not listed in the lawsuit.
The family of the girl also says the camp staff “knew or should have known of the problem of the sexual abuse of minors by employees," and failed to implement adequate safety measures in response.
